There was a great turnout in Grants Pass at the Uptown for the trophy once again. Ron the great "hippopepper" won it for Medford against Grants Pass' Doc "cockroach" Wilson. Congrats Ron on winning it. Next time I will have to borrow Scott "Mr Spock" Stuebings phaser and it won't be set on stun. See everybody in Medford Friday night.

First off, Doc thanks for the congratulations. You were a great heads-up opponent!

I must say though the final three Grants Pass players I had to get through to win were some of Grants Pass' best! Scott Stuebing, Jack Coughlin and Doc Wilson! It could have gone to any one of those guys just as easily as it went to me.

We had a really exciting table, including a royal flush dealt to Craig Willard on one of his all-ins.

But speaking of all-ins, I think the league has a new "all-in champion" in Doc Wilson. I've never been at a table where someone went all-in as many times as Doc did on Monday night!! I stopped counting at 63. Okay, that might be somewhat of an exaggeration, but I did give Doc a new nickname last night.....The Cockroach....you just can't finish that guy off! I'm going to bring my can of Raid next time!

Scott told me early on that Monday was going to be my night....I think it was some kind of Vulcan ESP thing.

I think Dr. Pepper power has to get some of the credit too. I hadn't had a Dr. Pepper during the second tournament until we got to the final table. I went to the bar and got one and as soon as I sat back down my next pocket cards dealt were 10 - 4 offsuit. I called and sure enough a 10 and a deuce came on the flop along with another card that was smaller than a ten. I saw 10-2-4 and knew the Pepper Power was on my side. I went all-in and won a nice sized pot to start my run to the finish!

Nothing like the "Power of Positive Pepper"!!

Hope to see you all on Friday at the Red Lion!
