The Rules

Alright, there are a few rules "things" that have been bugging me for a while. Let's begin:

1) Table Balancing
Riverdogs Poker League uses a bad system for balancing tables mid-tournament. The current rule used by RDPL is to move a player from behind the button. I've never played in a live tournament that uses this rule. Everywhere I've ever played in moves a player from in front of the big blind to the worst position on the new table, including the big blind on that table.

2) Min-raise
Many people, TDs and players alike, seem to believe that when the blinds are 50/100 and a player raises to 200, that the next legal raise is up to 400. That's not the case. A min-raise after the raise to 200 would be a raise to 300. I challenge you to find an online poker room that does it any different.

3) Less than legal raise allin killing action
I've discussed this with a few TDs, and most agree with me. Say the blinds are 100/200. UTG player raises to 600. Next player has 700 and moves allin. I've been told that the next player to act cannot re-raise the pot. This also is not true. If you have not had action on your hand, all of the normally available actions are still available to you, including the re-raise.

4) Language
Alright, I completely agree with no "f-bombs" being dropped at the table. Some people are offended or made uncomfortable by it and RDPL is a place where all players should feel comfortable at all times. Yes, it is a bar and you will hear profanity, but there is no need to exacerbate the issue. But I have something that needs clarified on this issue. If you are away from the table (or even at the table) and you say the word "donkey", is that a violation of the rules? Even if it's not directed at or about anybody? The reason I ask is that Roseburg's current TD seems to treat the word "donkey" exactly like the "f-bomb." He also treats all forms of it the same way. Eeyore, mule, jackass, etc. I said it (not referring to anybody) and got warned that I would be railed and evicted from the bar for a repeated "offense." Does that sound right to anyone?

Thanks.
Chris Drew.

i agree with you and i think that people should look it up before they say stuff.
and i think if this keeps going on the player will leave.

rile that's interesting rule..I just read that myself, but as i see its 6 of one, half a dozen of the other, its either from behind the button to behind the button or in front of the button to in front of the button.

I think you may be right on rule 2. TD's and league management should investigate and clarify this.

Rule 3 has already been discussed and corrected, unless your TD is still doing it wrong then league management needs to correct them.

rule 4; I am pretty sure RDPL cannot evict you from the bar only rail you, and Donkey is not a swear word.
as for the rest of that, common courtesy needs to prevail when all else fails.
