Ok ok,
This week I will tackle to awesome task of side pots.
FOR EVERYONE who ever DEALS in the league; You can do any number of side pots without ever doing any math!!!

HERE IS HOW (Yes Doc, you did already mostly explain it -- but I'll add a bit more):
The simplesy way to figure the side pot is start with the smallest stack that is all-in - Count it!
Take that much from each of the other players in the hand, and any partial bets that folded and are less than the all-in short stack and place in the "main pot"

Then look at the next shortest and see what they have left, and repeat puttin it in side pot 1.
Continue this until all money is accounted for. No math at all -- You just have to count.

NOW ther are TWO MORE RULES to consider to make this effective:
1) After each betting round you MUST pull in all bets, don't leave them out there or you are asking for more confusion and miscounts.

2) Keep control of the table as dealer. PLAYERS do not start calling off numbers of what you think should be in the side pots. You are just making it more confusing.

from my many years of experience in dealing I can honestly say that 95%+ of the time people who are arguing the amounts that should be in the side pots are all saying the same thing...just in different ways. If we all slow down, and let the dealer do it, and only interfere when THEY ASK FOR HELP, then all will get done right.

HAVE FUN DEALING and see you all at states!!!!!
