2008 Changes

River Dogs Poker League Award Structure

Play with River Dogs Poker League (RDPL) and you can score paid seats to National Poker Events such as the Word Series of Poker and other live events!  The more you play, the more ways you can win!  It all starts by becoming a league member and showing up to play at our regular league events in your city/area.

City/Region: League Play

Get your name on our points-leader board for your city/region by coming out and playing in our regular league nights.  Our current city/regions include Medford, Grants Pass, Eugene, Canyonville, Klamath Falls, and Roseburg. You can find a complete list of venues and times in your city/region on our website www.riverdogpokerleague.com.  When more players show up, competition is greater and you can earn more points!

At every league night, the top 16 players receive base points (BP) in the following denominations.

1st – 1000 (BP)

2nd – 650 (BP)

3rd – 360 (BP)

2nd – 650 (BP)  + 250 (AB) = 900 total points

3rd – 360 (BP) + 140 (AB) = 500 total points

7th – 150 + 30 (AB) = 180 total points

You can gain points every time you make the top 16 at a regularly scheduled league night as well as any time you place first or second at a consolation limit table.

Consolation limit tables are for players who finish the regular tournament before the final two tables.  Winners are determined by the number of chips at the time that the table is closed.  First place receives 100 points and second receives 50.  Important: Because players who place 1st – 8th in the regular tournament will have already scored points for that tournament, those players will not be allowed to play at the consolation limit table.

Amendment: As of March 1st, 2008 players placing 9th - 16th are allowed to play at the consolation table and score points along with any other player who does not make 1st - 8th in the regular tournament associated with that consolation table.

Your points are important.  Attend as many events as you can in your city/region, because the more points you receive, the better your chances of earning a seat to an RDPL State Championship.

State Level: State Championship

To play at the state level, you must qualify through your points earned at league nights in your city/region.  State Championships are held on an average of three times a year TBA.  The top points-leaders from each city/region within the state will be invited to play in their State Championship with the top 20 players from each league.

How many points you’ll need to qualify and how many points-leaders will be selected from each city/region depends on how many players there are in any given city/region and how many city/regions are operating. Each region will contribute 20 points-leaders  from each city/region as determined by RDPL.  You can find this information about your specific city or region on our website www.riverdogspokerleague.com.

Prizes for State Championship winners include paid seats to National  Poker events such as the World Series of Poker.

**First Quarter ’08 Transition Plan**

The award structure outlined above will take effect February 15, 2008 at which time the new points values will begin to be assigned to the top 16 players each night.  Remember, under the new system, players placing 1st – 8th in the regular tournament cannot play at the consolation table for that tournament.  Also:

  • Points accrued to date under the old points system will remain and continue to be tallied into players’ totals.
  • No one will lose any of the points they have accrued.
  • Weekly Qualifier Tournaments will cease.
  • Bounties will be in place as announced by the Tournament Director.
  • Becoming a points-leader in your city/region will become the only way to qualify for the State Championships mentioned in this document.

Medford – Top 20

Grants Pass – Top 20

Canyonville - Top 20

Roseburg – Top 20

Klamath Falls – Top 20

Eugene – Top 20

After the State Championship in April, points will be reset to begin for the second session of 2008 which will end August 31st and culminate in the State Championship in September.  This new system will reward a greater number of players at each league night and allow more people to be competitive through the points they earn.

And don’t forget about the bonus points awarded for high attendance.  Bring your friends and family to every River Dogs league night!

The following will be the new sign-out sheet at every River Dogs league night
